NCBC Statement

NCBC Statement Regarding COVID-19

National Camps for Blind Children (NCBC) campers and parents may be wondering what will happen regarding the upcoming summer blind camp season. Christian Record Services for the Blind, the organization that coordinates the NCBC program, is in consultation with its partner camp location directors. Because the NCBC season begins in mid-June, the information Christian Record is currently receiving is, essentially, "wait and see." Camp directors and Christian Record administration are monitoring information from its governing bodies, the CDC, and state and local authorities.

These Christian camp locations offer programming for families and youth in addition to NCBC summer or blind camp sessions. Any decision could have a significant impact on many groups, including Christian Record's members. These partner camps are located across the United States, where the spread of and the response to COVID-19 varies.

As NCBC program sponsors, Christian Record will defer to camp directors' final decisions on a location-by-location basis. Updates will be listed in the roster below. Please check this site and our social media pages often, as this is where information will be shared as it is available.

Please connect with Christian Record via Facebook, Twitter, or LinkedIn. Links are supplied below. Additionally, campers and parents may contact the camps directly (information below in the camps roster) or contact the Christian Record office at info@christianrecord.org or 402-488-0981.

We're in an unprecedented situation, and we believe God continues to bless, guide, and bring peace. We lean on the words of Jeremiah 29:11 in these tough times: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future" (NIV).

NCBC campers are a connected group, and uncertainty about the upcoming camp season may be upsetting to some. Please continue to reach out to each other to offer encouragement. The staff at Christian Record prays for you often during its staff worship time. You are an important part of the Christian Record community!

If you have friends or loved ones who are blind who would enjoy receiving reading services during this "wait and see" period and beyond, please encourage them to register at Lib.Guide.
