Christian Record Services mourns the passing of Barbara Loos, a valued friend, member, advisor, and advocate whose influence touched countless lives.
Barbara devoted her life to advancing opportunities for people who are blind or visually impaired. A lifelong Braille reader, educator, mentor, and advocate, she combined deep knowledge with a sincere desire to help others. Throughout her relationship with Christian Record Services, Barbara generously shared her expertise, offering thoughtful feedback on accessibility, literacy, publications, and member services. Her insights challenged us to do better and helped us remain focused on serving our community with excellence.
As a member of the Christian Record Services Advisory Committee, Barbara's voice was respected and valued. She strongly believed in the importance of Braille literacy and accessible communication, and she never hesitated to speak up when doing so could improve others' experience. Her contributions reflected both her commitment to the blind community and her desire to see organizations grow and learn.
"Barbara's feedback, suggestions, and recommendations positively impacted the organization's goals to enhance the lives of those we serve," said PhoneFaith Coordinator, Leanora Ruff. "Her strong advocacy and passionate disposition aligned with her resourcefulness and positive outlook and results. Everybody knew Barbara, and we all will miss her selfless contributions to the Blind and Low Vision Community."
More than her accomplishments, however, we will remember Barbara for her kindness, wisdom, and willingness to invest in people. She leaves behind a legacy of advocacy, service, and friendship that will continue to inspire us for years to come.
We extend our heartfelt sympathy to Barbara's family and loved ones. We are grateful for the many ways she enriched Christian Record Services and the lives of those she served.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23
